In the past few months, many Paramedics have been enhancing their valuable skill set with learning how to use the lightest lift-assisted stretcher trolley – the Universal MedAssist.

Training on the Universal MedAssist stretcher trolley is not incredibly time intensive due to the ease of operation; the levers are simple to use and the stretcher has a logical layout. There are only a few key points that need to be remembered and these are highlighted with labels on the stretcher itself. The ease of operation means the Paramedics are quick to learn how to use the Universal MedAssist and are awarded a Certificate following successful completion of the training.

John Nicholls, Clinical Manager at Colchester Ambulance Station commented on the Universal MedAssist training saying “The crews quickly grasped the main points of the stretcher trolley”.

Following Universal MedAssist training, one user commented “It is very easy to learn and pretty self-explanatory.” Adding, “It’s a god send to get in and out of lifts as it has the wheelchair capability”.

VW Company are committed to ensuring that the training programme runs smoothly, they are skilled at training Paramedics directly or training the Trainers to train so they can then cascade the information downwards. The company are able to provide additional Universal MedAssist™ stretcher trolleys for training so there is no need to take a front line ambulance off the road. Overall, VW Company tailor the training to the individual needs of the Customer to guarantee an efficient and effective training programme.
